Carnival Cruise Line announced the dates for its holiday cruises.
Each ship will be decorated with holiday decorations, with the first vessels being decorated by Friday, November 25, 2022.
Holiday Decoration Dates Announced
cruisehive.com has announced the holiday decorations dates for the entire Carnival fleet.
Every ship is decorated by professionals, not onboard crew. Therefore, the decoration dates for each ship will vary depending on the time that the ship is in port. This allows decorations and staff to be brought aboard to complete the seasonal transformation.
Carnival Radiance and Carnival Liberty will be the first ships to receive holiday decorations. They will unveil their new holiday decorations Friday, November 25, 25.
Carnival Liberty flies from Port Canaveral in Florida. It offers short, 3- to 4-night sailings to The Bahamas. Carnival Radiance sails from Long Beach (California), with 3- to 4-night itineraries to Baja Mexico.
Over the next 10 Days, the rest of the fleet will display holiday decorations as follows:
- Saturday, November 26 – Mardi Gras, Horizon, Panorama, Vista
- Sunday, November 27, 2009 – Dream, Glory Magic, Miracles, Spirit
- Monday, November 28 – Elation, Valor
- Thursday, December 1, Breeze and Freedom
- Friday, December 2, – Conquest
- Saturday, December 3 – Paradise, Sunrise
- Sunday, December 4 – Legend, Luminosa, Pride
- Monday, December 5 – Splendor, Sunshine
The holiday decorations for the new Carnival Celebration will be of particular interest as the ship celebrates her first holiday season. One month after welcoming her first guests, the ship will unveil its Christmas decorations.
Carnival Celebration offers 7-8-night roundtrip Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries starting in Miami during the holiday season.
Although decorations will vary depending on the ship, most include garlands along the promenade and lighted trees in an atrium area. There are also bows, holly and ivy as well as twinkle lights and wreaths.
Heald said, “Christmas and Holiday season are a wonderful time of sail and I hope that you all get the chance to experience it on our ships.”
Festive Activities onboard
Carnival Cruise Line offers a range of holiday activities onboard, from November to January.
Carnival’s ships can be transformed into holiday wonderlands by offering special holiday story times, trivia contests on holiday themes, seasonal menu items and holiday music in the elevators.
For a magical holiday experience, some ships will have “snow” in their atrium.
To mark the start of 2023, New Year’s sailings will include balloon drops. For younger guests, a balloon drop and countdown in the early evening is common. At midnight, a huge deck party is held and the ship’s horn sounds. This is Carnival’s traditional way of ringing in the new year.
Decorations go down
As holiday decorations are required to be placed while the ships are in port, they will also need to be taken down between cruises when guests embark or debark.
Although there is no published schedule for when decorations will be taken down, they are typically dismantled and stored within a few days of the New Year.
